Josie Edwards (11) - Daniel's Weekly Twenty - 17th September, 2025

 # Daniel's Weekly 20 - September 17th

This was an interesting week. Lots of new songs, but nothing in the countdown moved more than 3 spots. Josie Edwards' good girls spends an 11th week at #1, but has a new competitor, "new house", no pun intended. Tate McRae's signs rebound into the top 5, and Belle Tatum enters the top 10 for the first time. Speaking of Belle, she has our highest debut of the week with "Sort Of Seventeen" which is #15 this week. We also see new releases from Erin LeCount "808 HYMN" and 3Quency "Top Down" make their debuts. 3Quency makes their DW20 Debut, while Erin LeCount has her 3rd song on the chart. We'll see if 808 Hymn can go to #7 and last longer than 5 or 6 weeks...

This takes us to the more weird debuts. Cue the boos, but I've never heard any Laufey song in full until last Friday, when I heard Tough Luck on an iHeartRadio station of all things. I have since streamed it 186 times, so expect it to do well on here lol. Finally, Olivia Rodrigo hasn't appeared here at all in 2025, for obvious reasons. Chat GPT then tried to recommend me "logical" as part of a Mock Radio station i may or may not be making based off this chart. "Logical" really grew on me tonight and it's now #20, two years later. Onto the top 20!

02. Benson Boone - Mystical Magical [+1] {9w} 2w @ #1
01.
Marshmello feat. Jelly Roll - Holy Water [+3] {3w} 1w @ #1*

Biggest five songs on Mediabase CHR/Pop that The Pulse haven't played yet:

KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden [#8]
Tate McRae - revolving door
[#9]
Jessie Murph - Blue Strips [#10]
charli xcx - party 4 u [#11]
Leon Thomas - Mutt [#12]

Biggest five songs on Mediabase Hot AC that The Pulse haven't played yet:

KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden [#13]
Sarah Reeves - Cloud Nine
[#17]
Harper Grace feat. Kelsey Hart - Freedom [#19]
Sabrina Carpenter - Tears [#26]
sombr - back to friends [#29]

We have one debut this week. Let's get through it:

Alex Warren debuts all the way up at #11 with Eternity. I really like this song, but it did fade on me slightly since when I first heard it, but I'm starting to like it again. Alex sounds great here and the production is really cool, especially in the bridge. I wouldn't mind this staying for an, ahem, eternity. Maybe I would actually, i don't know. Guess we'll see!

Now Playing

Goo Goo Dolls - Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes) (5)

John K - Never Been In Love (6)

Chappell Roan - The Subway (3)

Max McNown - Better Me For You (Brown Eyes) (3)

Alex Warren - Eternity (6)

Lady Gaga - The Dead Dance (Debut)

Bad Suns - Communicating (Debut)

Renee Rapp - I Think I Like You Better When You're Gone (Debut)

I guess I'll count three new songs now playing as many...

Lady Gaga is quickly rising on Hot AC, and she is now on The Pulse with The Dead Dance. I like this, but it is nowhere near as good as Abracadabra. The chorus is slightly underwhelming, but Gaga sounds great and the production is still good.

Bad Suns are also rising on Hot AC, and the band is now here with Communication. This is a great song, although kind of basic, but still great. The band sounds great and so does the production.

This next song isn't on Hot AC *yet* but it is #20 on Spotify's big on the internet playlist, and is even the second most streamed song off of her new album "Bite Me" even more streamed than all of the singles besides Leave Me Alone. The song I'm talking about is titled I Think I Like You Better When You're Gone and it's by Renee Rapp. This is a nice ballad and it's very catchy, I would love to see this become a hit.

Pour out a little blurby water

We lost Boyfriend from Belle Tatum, which deserves so much better. This is the first time that no song on The Pulse's Top 15 is also somewhere on my charts this week. This means Holy Water gets the purple award for the first time.

Why did Daisies rebound 3 spots after dropping massively before? This is really starting to annoy me so please leave soon.

Billie Eilish will likely be gone next week, as she dropped 9 spots this week with her Wildflower. Arrow could also leave.

All Night from Maroon 5 is receiving no airplay, but that won't stop it from staying on the countdown instead of Boyfriend, I guess...

Undressed finally moved up to #6, but What I Want is on it's 5th week at #7. It'll likely do what Abracadabra did and leave after next week where it'll spend it's 6th week at #1.

Benson Boone is still here, which means he'll likely return to #1, not this week, but soon.

Lewis Capaldi only lasted a single week at #1, and now we get a new #1 from Marshmello and Jelly Roll, which I'm very excited about.

That's all for now, Time to take Moxie to an Arizona Cardinals game!! See y'all next week!

Billy Idol feat. Avril Lavigne - 77 [#26]

We have one debut this week. Let's get through it:

Russell Dickerson makes his Pulse debut with Happen To Me, which first released in...February. This isn't as forgettable as it was initially and did grow on me, so hopefully it can do well here. Russell sounds good and the production is super fun.

Now Playing

Goo Goo Dolls - Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes) (4)

Chappell Roan - The Subway (2)

John K - Never Been In Love (5)

Max McNown - Better Me For You (Brown Eyes) (2)

Alex Warren - Eternity (5)

C'mon, really? Nothing is newly now playing this week. Hopefully this is made up for by many adds next week.

I swear to god i can blurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrb

We lost No Time To Talk from The Jonas Brothers. This was getting very old and very annoying so good riddance.

Justin Bieber's Daisies is #1 in the airplay, and apparently when you're #1 in airplay you get to drop 8 spots in the countdown. Okay then!

What I Want and Undressed are both on their fourth week stuck in their respective spots. Do something!

Marshmello gets a huge jump with his collab with Jelly Roll "Holy Water" which is now top 5.

Benson Boone dropped two spots to #3 after two weeks at the top. But no, Ed Sheeran can't get the #1 spot because he never can. Instead, let's give it to Lewis Capaldi, because why not? Right, Moxie?

Speaking of, I have to go and take her to go scuba diving at Lake Roosevelt. I'm sure the water is deep enough.

Bad Suns - Communicating [#27]

We have two debuts this week. Let's get through them:

We have a random nobody...who actually brings the best song of the week here? Belle Tatum is here with her song Boyfriend that has not even 150,000 streams in the near 4 months it has been released. But it deserves more. Like, way more. Wayyyyyyyyyyy more. Belle sounds super great here and the Sabrina-like production usually wouldn't be a compliment but she's not Sabrina, so....

Our random collab of the week goes to Jelly Roll and Marshmello's new song Holy Water. Hold up, this is also great! Jelly Roll sounds great as always and the lyrics and production are super fun here. Let's hope this does well!

Now Playing

Goo Goo Dolls - Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes) (3)

John K - Never Been In Love (4)

Alex Warren - Eternity (4)

Russell Dickerson - Happen To Me (2)

Chappell Roan - The Subway (Debut)

Max McNown - Better Me For You (Brown Eyes) (Debut)

Chappell Roan has one of the biggest songs right now with The Subway, and since it's rising fast on both Top 40 and Hot AC charts of course it would make it here. The Subway is a beautiful song even if a bit repetitive at the end, but I still love it and would love to see it do well.

Max McNown had one of the biggest songs of the year with A Lot More Free, and now we see his follow up single Better Me For You (Brown Eyes) Now Playing on The Pulse. This isn't a ballad like A Lot More Free, and that's honestly a good thing because I won't get tired of it as easily. That said, Max McNown sounds great and this is pretty fun, I want this to do well and maybe even get #1 because A Lot More Free couldn't

Everybody knows I can't blurb, especially my boyfriend

We lost a former #1: Nice To Meet You. This is now the least successful #1 of 2025, spending a whopping 6 weeks total on the chart, and 2 weeks at #1. It spent about as much time Now Playing as it did actually on the countdown.

We lost Love Me Not from Ravyn Lenae. I love this song, but why did it re-enter if it would just leave two weeks later?

We saw two big jumps into the top 6: Daisies from Justin Bieber along with Wildflower from Billie Eilish. These are starting to fade on me but hopefully they can stick around a little longer.

No Time To Talk from The Jonas Brothers seems like it will leave next week, but what else?

That's all for now, let me know in the comments what you think of this post. Now for myself, I have to take Moxie to go camping. We're going to the Gila National Forest and she is going to be our little buddy for the trip. How much do you want to bet she's going to scurry into the woods? I hope not, but we'll see. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

We have two debuts this week. Let's get through them:

Adam Levine who wants to be called Maroon 5 is our first debut with All Night. This is good but it faded on me a bit since it was first Now Playing. But it's still good, and much better than Priceless. I wouldn't mind this peaking higher than Priceless did at #7.

OneRepublic debuts with Beautiful Colors, the first song from them to debut since Sink Or Swim, a song that was #1 for 2 weeks and spent over half a year on the countdown. I tried to like this, but it actually faded on me instead. Let's hope this doesn't spend over half a year here...although i wouldn't mind it staying a little bit to see if it could grow on me again. We'll see.

Now Playing

Goo Goo Dolls - Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes) (2)

John K - Never Been In Love (3)

Marshmello feat. Jelly Roll - Holy Water (2)

Belle Tatum - Boyfriend (3)

Alex Warren - Eternity (3)

Russell Dickerson - Happen To Me (Debut)

Russell Dickerson is back with Happen To Me. This is good, but forgettable, and I don't know what else to say about it so i'll stop the review in 3, 2, 1.

We can blurb on and on and on all night

We lost two songs that also debuted at the same time: On My Mind and Man On The Moon, which debuted 5 weeks ago. These were both starting to fade on me so I'm glad they left now.

Manchild made a big jump up to #4, and this could be #1 soon...

with Nice To Meet You falling 4 spots to #5, we have a new #1: Mystical Magical from Benson Boone. I'm so glad this made #1, I love it so much.

That's all for now, let me know in the comments what you think of this post. Now for myself, I have to take Moxie to go fishing in the Santa Cruz River. I wonder if there's any fish in the Santa Cruz River, or if it's just a dry wash like it usually is...Anyways, let's hope she catches some salmon. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
