Lewis Capaldi (2) - The Pulse Top 15 - 27th September, 2025

And so we meet again. Hello everyone, How are y'all doing? I don't have much to say this week so let's start!

But before we officially start, let's see what our one exit is:

Morgan Wallen feat. Tate McRae - What I Want [==] {14w} Peak: 7 ; Year End: 23

Top 15

15. Lady Gaga - The Dead Dance [Debut] (after 2 weeks Now Playing)

11. Russell Dickerson - Happen To Me [==] {4w} Peak: 11
10. The Head & The Heart - Arrow [==] {11w} Peak: 7
09. OneRepublic - Beautiful Colors [==] {6w} Peak: 9

02. Benson Boone - Mystical Magical [==] {11w} 2w @ #1
01.
Lewis Capaldi - Survive [+5] {8w} 1w @ #1

Biggest five songs on Mediabase CHR/Pop that The Pulse haven't played yet:

KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden [#6]
Tate McRae - revolving door
[#9]
Leon Thomas - Mutt [#10]
Sabrina Carpenter - Tears [#11]
Doja Cat - Jealous Type [#13]

Biggest five songs on Mediabase Hot AC that The Pulse haven't played yet:

KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden [#8]
Sarah Reeves - Cloud Nine
[#17]
Harper Grace feat. Kelsey Hart - Freedom [#19]
Sabrina Carpenter - Tears [#21]
Melanie Phirrman - Take Me Back [#25]

We have one debut this week. Let's get through it:

Lady Gaga gets her second song of 2025 (no, Die With A Smile wasn't on the top 15 in 2025) with The Dead Dance. I'm not really feeling this. Lady Gaga sounds great here, but the melodies aren't sticking and the production feels generic.

Now Playing

Renee Rapp - I Think I Like You Better When You're Gone (3)

Bon Jovi - Red, White, and Jersey (2)

sombr - back to friends (2)

Ed Sheeran - Camera (2)

Bad Suns - Communicating (3)

Chappell Roan - The Subway (5)

Nothing is new this week...

and it blurbs like an eternity...

We lost What I Want. I do love that song (I'm sorry) but it had been stalling at #7 for so long so it's about time it lets somebody else stall there.

Speaking of songs stalling, #13 through #8 all held their spots this week.

Daisies and Eternity both jumped huge last week, but this week they each fell 3 spots. Make it make sense.

The Goo Goo Dolls get the obligatory big jump into the top 5, as they jump ten spots to #4. Let's get this to #1 soon!

Manchild by Sabrina Carpenter is done with its run everywhere but here. I expect this to be a song that leaves from #2.

with Holy Water falling to #5 after its two weeks at #1, we have a returning #1 from Lewis Capaldi and his song Survive. This is now the 4th song in a row to spend 2 total weeks at #1, unless Mystical Magical or something gets a third week.

That's all for now, Time to take Moxie scuba diving. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Ethan's Ten Most Unpopular Music Opinions

For those of you that have followed Ethan's blog for the past three year, you would know he has some very unpopular opinions. Today, I'm counting ten of the most unpopular music opinions. These could be artists that he doesn't like that other people do, songs he loves that nobody else does, and anything in between. Let's get started!

#10 - "Billie Eilish - What Was I Bored For?"

#10 kicks us off with what will be a re-occuring theme - Ethan's inability to enjoy beautiful music. This one is only #10 as more people than Ethan hate this, but most people still love it, including myself, so I might be a bit biased here. It did take me some time to like it, because it is very slow, but Billie Eilish is an amazing singer and this song is one of the best examples of her great singing voice. Again, There's a few that also dislike this, but the supermajority love it. Let's go to #9!

#9 - "Party Rock Anthem is the 6th best song of all time"

I didn't always love Party Rock Anthem. I do enjoy it now, probably more than most, but I definitely wouldn't say it's the 6th best song of all time. I get it, you love Party loops. but there's nothing meaningful about this song. It's fun and that's about it, and that's what many people think.

#8 - "Knox Amazingness"

I hate to break it to you, but there's nothing amazing about this stupid wannabe Blink-182 redhead dude. He isn't The 1975, that's for sure, because even Ratty Healy has more talent than him. He's so bad, Mikey Piff loves him. That's how you know you f*cked up.

To: Mikey Piff
SiriusXM Studios
Broadway, New York City

I am writing to you today to express my dismay for this artist, Knox. He is not a good musician, all he sings about is nothing. Yup, he can't even sing about anything relevant? So why are you playing him? How much did he pay you? Please let me know, we all need to know this answer.

From:
Daniel

#7 - "Tate MidRae"

This is likely Ethan's most confusing take, as he had 5 Tate McRae songs be his best song of the week, for a total of over 2 months. But I still don't understand how Tate McGreat can possibly be bad. Her vocals, her production, her tour, it's all top notch. There's a reason I'm seeing her for the third time next month. I know, I'm not biased at all.

#6 - "AJR Amazingness"

Ass Jaundice Rabies definitely deserve to be here. There's nothing appealing about "I'm Ready" where the little toddler yelling in my ear is the only noise i listen to for 3 minutes. They also blessed us with "World's Smallest Violin" which is one of about 3 recent songs my dad can't stand. That tells you how bad these people are. Not to mention they just run their songs on, with no apparent need for grammar. Their lyrics don't make any sense either.

#5 - "Anxiety is Doechii Amazingness"

I disagree. Anxiety, the most hated song of 2025, is most certainly NOT Doechii amazingness. The worst part about this song is that it stopped one of the best songs of 2025 from being an actual hit. It seems this has faded on Ethan's taste buds, but he still loved it by the end of it's run, so it gets a spot here.

P.S. I talked to Brady from SiriusXM for an hour and 20 minutes, and even he couldn't stand this song.

#4 - "Woman's World is Katy Perry Amazingness"

Well, Ethan, I guess the 5 other people that attended the Katy Perry Lifetimes tour agree with you, so you're not alone. That's a plus, right? It's most definitely NOT a woman's world, and the Billboard Hot 100 chart run the song had showed us exactly that.

In all seriousness, and this is a genuine question: Do you still think it's amazing even after she went to space and all the controversy from that?

Alright, back to the...

#3 - "Eminem is the greatest rapper ever"

NOPE! Emidnem has made too much garbage in his life to even be considered one of the greatest rappers ever, let alone the greatest. He keeps recycling the same lines over and over again. Name another rapper who does that? Oh right, nobody, cuz nobody else does that! I've talked to well over 100 people by now about this, and they all say the same thing: You can't call someone great who makes as much garbage as he makes great songs. Sure, Lose yourself exists. Wanna know what else exists?

Oh my god, don’t even get me started on Houdini. That song is proof that just because Eminem can still rhyme fast doesn’t mean he should. It’s like he pulled out the same tired, early-2000s Slim Shady gag reel, dusted it off, and thought, “Yeah, this’ll kill in 2025.” Spoiler: it doesn’t.

The beat? Corny. It sounds like a rejected ringtone from a 2008 flip phone. The hook? Annoying. It’s him clowning around with a “look at me, I’m wacky!” vibe that feels so forced it’s painful. And the bars—don’t even get me started—half of them are cheap shock humor, the other half are him reminding you he used to be controversial. Bro, you’re not pushing the culture anymore, you’re recycling the same middle-school locker room jokes we’ve already heard for 20 years.

What’s worse is he tries to pass it off like a clever comeback to critics, like he’s Houdini escaping the haters. But honestly? It sounds like he’s locked himself inside his own outdated style, begging people to still think it’s edgy. Newsflash: it’s not 2002 anymore. Slim Shady antics don’t hit the same when you’re in your 50s. At this point, it’s dad rap cosplay.

And here’s the kicker: people defend this track by saying, “But look how technical he is!” WHO CARES if you can rhyme “balloon” with “cartoon” at hyperspeed if the song itself is unlistenable trash? Technical skill without good taste is just noise. Houdini is Eminem proving he can still juggle words—great, congrats—but also proving he has no idea what actually sounds good in 2025.

#2 - "Godbull"

A god has one name, not a gazillion. Shitbull doesn't even know what to call himself and what he wants others to call him. That's not god behavior. Maybe he has a few good, not great, songs, but he's not a god. In fact, Gods are supposed to help people, not sing about how much money you have in your song "I Feel Good" Pitbull, there's literally starving children in Africa, go help them with your millions of dollars instead of bragging about eventually going bankrupt which is what you'll do when you follow through with all your stupid promises you've made from all your songs. Again, he's not a god, god is Godson Boone and the Goddess is, well let's see.

#1 - "David Midner" - Daylight

Oh, you're telling me i'm the only one who likes Daylight? Okay, fine.

#1 - "Olivia Midrigo"

Ethan really showed how flop his opinions are when he said "GUTS was more Olivia Rodrigo midness". In fact, that comment was so bad, it got Ethan muted for 6 hours on the Hits 1 Discord server. the server typically put up with Ethan's shenanigans but saying GUTS was more Olivia Rodrigo midness was not just a step too far, it was 5,847,129 steps too far. Olivia's best album does NOT deserve those comments, and he's the only one who says that. Vampire is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. bad idea, right is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. get him back! is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. drivers license is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. traitor is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. obsessed is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. so american is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. good 4 u is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. deja vu is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. happier is Olivia Godrigo amazingness. And her new song "Ethan Sucks For Hating Me" will be Olivia Godrigo amazingness.

Well, that was all the terrible takes for now. If someone wants to make a list of MY terrible music opinions, go ahead, I want to read it.

Marshmello & Jelly Roll (2) - The Pulse Top 15 - September 20th, 2025

And so we meet again. Hello everyone, How are y'all doing? I don't have much to say this week so let's start!

But before we officially start, let's see what our three exits are:

Maroon 5 - All Night [#12] {4w} Peak: 11 ; Year End: miss
sombr - undressed [#6] {14w} Peak: 6 ; Year End: 22
Ed Sheeran feat. Arijit Singh - Sapphire [#4] {67w} Peak: 2 ; Year End: 30

KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden [#8]
Tate McRae - revolving door

Leon Thomas - Mutt [#10]
charli xcx - party 4 u [#11]
Sabrina Carpenter - Tears [#12]

Biggest five songs on Mediabase Hot AC that The Pulse haven't played yet:

Sarah Reeves - Cloud Nine
[#17]
Harper Grace feat. Kelsey Hart - Freedom [#20]
Sabrina Carpenter - Tears [#23]
Melanie Phirrman - Take Me Back [#26]

We have three debuts this week. Let's get through them:

Max McNown charts his followup single to the #2 hit A Lot More Free, this one called Better Me For You (Brown Eyes). I think I like this more, Max sounds better here and the production is more enjoyable.

Wow, The Goo Goo Dolls are probably the most relaxing band in the world, and they also does entertain us. Every day, every night, they're always here to entertain us. Their new song Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes) proves to us that they aren't saying goodbye yet, and thank goodness. I love The Goo Goo Dolls, the entertainers of the year 1998. Let's hope they get this award in 2025 with this new song.

Has anyone noticed that ever since I started saying "I HATE JOHN K" he became NO LONGER HOT? The "Out Of Touch" Pulse Top 15 Host still thinks I CARE about this stupid artist! He can't even use his full name. Why? He's a COWARD! JOHN K(OWARD) Needs to be off the air IMMEDIATELY! I can't stand his stupid song! I can see WHY He has never been in love before! Because his music SUCKS! - DJT

Okay, in all seriousness, I don't really like this new John K song. Honey was alright, but this is too short and too annoying. I guess I finally have to give out an orange song...

Now Playing

Lady Gaga - The Dead Dance (2)

Renee Rapp - I Think I Like You Better When You're Gone (2)

Chappell Roan - The Subway (4)

Bad Suns - Communicating (2)

Ed Sheeran - Camera (Debut)

sombr - back to friends (Debut)

Bon Jovi - Red, White, and Jersey (Debut)

Yay, another 3 more songs to review!

Ed Sheeran released his new album Play last week, and from it we have the focus track Camera. This sounds like Celestial, but without the amazing EDM-ish production. Thus, it's not that good.

Bon Jovi gets another song, because of course he does. This is much better than Now Or Never, but that was a very low bar to begin with. It's still decent enough, I don't mind this.

sombr left the countdown this week with Undressed, but now he is here with back to friends! Although not as good as undressed, I still love this and hope to see it do well.

If I Blurb My Eyes...

Maroon 5 leaves with All Night, Ed Sheeran leaves with Sapphire, and Sombr leaves with Undressed. Ed Sheeran and Sombr get two new songs Now Playing, and All Night was getting very annoying so i'm glad it left.

Why did Wildflower rebound? It was in a perfect spot leaving right when i was getting tired of it.

Arrow is starting to fade on me as well, it did not need to rebound.

Daisies did not need a massive jump either...Although it's less annoying currently than Wildflower.

Glad to see Eternity in the top 3. Hopefully this can hit #1 soon.

That's all for now, Time to take Moxie to Space. Yup, that's right. She's going to space, when there's starving children in Africa, she's going to pull a Katy Perry.

Okay, Maybe I'm not that ludacris. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Josie Edwards (11) - Daniel's Weekly Twenty - 17th September, 2025

 # Daniel's Weekly 20 - September 17th

This was an interesting week. Lots of new songs, but nothing in the countdown moved more than 3 spots. Josie Edwards' good girls spends an 11th week at #1, but has a new competitor, "new house", no pun intended. Tate McRae's signs rebound into the top 5, and Belle Tatum enters the top 10 for the first time. Speaking of Belle, she has our highest debut of the week with "Sort Of Seventeen" which is #15 this week. We also see new releases from Erin LeCount "808 HYMN" and 3Quency "Top Down" make their debuts. 3Quency makes their DW20 Debut, while Erin LeCount has her 3rd song on the chart. We'll see if 808 Hymn can go to #7 and last longer than 5 or 6 weeks...

This takes us to the more weird debuts. Cue the boos, but I've never heard any Laufey song in full until last Friday, when I heard Tough Luck on an iHeartRadio station of all things. I have since streamed it 186 times, so expect it to do well on here lol. Finally, Olivia Rodrigo hasn't appeared here at all in 2025, for obvious reasons. Chat GPT then tried to recommend me "logical" as part of a Mock Radio station i may or may not be making based off this chart. "Logical" really grew on me tonight and it's now #20, two years later. Onto the top 20!

And so we meet again. Hello everyone, How are y'all doing? I don't have much to say this week so let's start!

Tate McRae - revolving door

Jessie Murph - Blue Strips [#10]

KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden [#13]
Sarah Reeves - Cloud Nine
[#17]
Harper Grace feat. Kelsey Hart - Freedom [#19]
Sabrina Carpenter - Tears [#26]
sombr - back to friends [#29]

We have one debut this week. Let's get through it:

Alex Warren debuts all the way up at #11 with Eternity. I really like this song, but it did fade on me slightly since when I first heard it, but I'm starting to like it again. Alex sounds great here and the production is really cool, especially in the bridge. I wouldn't mind this staying for an, ahem, eternity. Maybe I would actually, i don't know. Guess we'll see!

Now Playing

Goo Goo Dolls - Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes) (5)

John K - Never Been In Love (6)

Chappell Roan - The Subway (3)

Max McNown - Better Me For You (Brown Eyes) (3)

Alex Warren - Eternity (6)

Lady Gaga - The Dead Dance (Debut)

Bad Suns - Communicating (Debut)

Renee Rapp - I Think I Like You Better When You're Gone (Debut)

I guess I'll count three new songs now playing as many...

Lady Gaga is quickly rising on Hot AC, and she is now on The Pulse with The Dead Dance. I like this, but it is nowhere near as good as Abracadabra. The chorus is slightly underwhelming, but Gaga sounds great and the production is still good.

Bad Suns are also rising on Hot AC, and the band is now here with Communication. This is a great song, although kind of basic, but still great. The band sounds great and so does the production.

This next song isn't on Hot AC *yet* but it is #20 on Spotify's big on the internet playlist, and is even the second most streamed song off of her new album "Bite Me" even more streamed than all of the singles besides Leave Me Alone. The song I'm talking about is titled I Think I Like You Better When You're Gone and it's by Renee Rapp. This is a nice ballad and it's very catchy, I would love to see this become a hit.

Pour out a little blurby water

We lost Boyfriend from Belle Tatum, which deserves so much better. This is the first time that no song on The Pulse's Top 15 is also somewhere on my charts this week. This means Holy Water gets the purple award for the first time.

Why did Daisies rebound 3 spots after dropping massively before? This is really starting to annoy me so please leave soon.

Billie Eilish will likely be gone next week, as she dropped 9 spots this week with her Wildflower. Arrow could also leave.

All Night from Maroon 5 is receiving no airplay, but that won't stop it from staying on the countdown instead of Boyfriend, I guess...

Undressed finally moved up to #6, but What I Want is on it's 5th week at #7. It'll likely do what Abracadabra did and leave after next week where it'll spend it's 6th week at #1.

Benson Boone is still here, which means he'll likely return to #1, not this week, but soon.

Lewis Capaldi only lasted a single week at #1, and now we get a new #1 from Marshmello and Jelly Roll, which I'm very excited about.

That's all for now, Time to take Moxie to an Arizona Cardinals game!! See y'all next week!
