I'm assuming this is more like bubby's chart than like hfe94's chart, there's no actual eligibility requirement but it's just loosely newer stuff most of the time
ReplyDeleteYou're mostly right. I wouldn't put a song like drivers license back on the chart even if I really enjoy it, because it was a hit on the radio before. I try to follow radio chart rules the best I can; even Running Up That Hill wasn't a big hit in the US in the 1980s, same with Murder On The Dance Floor. That said, I have put older songs on my chart in the past, but I try to have a 5 year cutoff, and it has to have been a song that wouldn't be on my chart before. Blondes - Street Fight is from 2021 and Bloodline by Sam Tompkins is also from 2021. One last thing is that I sometimes have trouble finding what to do with the older songs; Logical could just be a one and done as it wouldn't make a lot of sense to make it a #1 hit, imo.
DeleteTL:DR If a song was not a radio hit, and is less than 5 years old and i never really liked it much beforehand, then It's eligible to be on my chart.
